Adzim Halim, CEO Ninja Van Malaysia

After completing his Bachelors and Masters degrees at the Imperial College of London in Civil and Structural Engineering in 2011, Adzim returned to Malaysia to work briefly for his family’s business, then, in 2012, moved to Singapore to join AECOM as a Consultant Structural Engineer where he had the opportunity to contribute to the designing of Changi Airport Singapore, Terminal 4.

In 2015, Adzim joined the Ninja Van team in Singapore as part of the operations team with no experience in logistics. The move to Ninja Van eventually led to his contribution as part of the founding team for Ninja Van Malaysia. Starting from delivering packages during the day and sorting parcels at night to becoming the CEO of Ninja Van Malaysia, Adzim has proved that he can achieve success by putting his heart and soul into his job. He now leads a team of over 2000 passionate individuals that work tirelessly to bring full Ninja Van coverage to every corner of Peninsular Malaysia.

The quick expansion of Ninja Van Malaysia can also be credited to Adzim’s mission to constantly create an encouraging environment for his team. His infectious personable and goal-driven character has ensured that Ninja Van workers country-wide are as committed to Ninja Van’s promise to be the best logistics company in Malaysia, as he is.

Dato’ Michael Tio, Group CEO & MD PKT Logistics Group

Dato’ Michael’s entrepreneurial journey started from a very young age when started exporting luxury pre-owned vehicles to Malaysia while studying in the UK. He returned to Malaysia in 1996 to grow the family business into PKT Logistics Group. 

With his philosophy, “Dream of it, Talk about it, Plan for it, Work on it and Get it”, he led PKT to be a socially responsible company providing niche logistics services with presence in Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and most Asean countries.

As the Group Chief Executive and Managing Director, he transformed PKT to be a Facebook compulsory company while gaining over 1.07 million Facebook followers on his own profile. 

Dato Michael Tio’s active contribution to various local education institution saw him being appointed an Adjunct Professor by University Utara Malaysia (UUM) and was also conferred the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Logistics Management by UUM in November 2018.  

His accolades include the Star SOBA Entrepreneur of the Year 2012, Sin Chew Business Excellence Person of the Year 2014 and Frost and Sullivan Niche Logistics Service Provider of the Year 2015. Dato Michael Tio was awarded The Best CEO Award by the Education Ministry of Malaysia under the CEO Faculty Programme in 2019.

Dato Ts Abd Radzak Abd Malek, CILT International President

In the spirit of Stronger Together, Dato’ Radzak will seek to widen CILT activities in all countries with established CILT offices, and strengthen CILT in other affiliated member countries. He has pledged to strengthen our Regional Forums, and encourage ‘better understanding of the cultures, opportunities and challenges of different countries’.  The provision of accessible and high quality education is a key mission of the Institute, and Dato’ Radzak will seek build on the Institute’s educational programming, and look to the use of new technologies to ensure students and industry professionals alike ‘have access to the knowledge they need in the format they need’. Furthermore, Dato’ Radzak is keen to see growth in the number of WiLAT members and NexGen members. In addition to a number of outreach and awareness campaigns, he will put the support of the International Presidency behind a Members-Get-Members recruitment drive, to ensure we are reaching out to and representing all women working in our industry, at all levels and in all countries.

Dato’ Radzak aims to bring to bear the collective ingenuity of our membership, encouraging all members to share their ideas on how to ‘improve our offering to members, to potential members, and to business.’ Further to this point he observes how ‘ideas such as the International Business Forum, and collaborations with other organisations can only strengthen us’, and that he hopes to hear ‘many great proposals from all parts of the Institute in the coming months.

A graduate of UCSI University Malaysia, possessing a first class honors in mass communications, film and television, Cynthia more recently made it to the final four nominees of the South East Asia Women of The Future Awards 2020.
